1st Term

22 January            Staff reported for duty. New teachers: Miss Pinchin (replacing Mrs. Handley), Mrs. McColl  (Library), Ms. Heather Allan (Teacher Aide), Mrs. Erwee (Grade 0), Mr. Nikwe (Music), Mrs. Adams off with a seriously broken ankle.

23 January            School opened for learners.

29 January            J.P. Information Evening

5 February            S.P..... Information Evening

7 February            Simba Road Show

12 February            Joseph Ndimande (Lollipop Man) demonstrated to the school how to cross the road.

15 February            Grade Seven on Leadership Camp with Mrs. Walker and Mr. Pillay.

19 February            Three Danish Student teacher arrived for 3 weeks.

23 February            Mr. Duffield attended DGHS Prize Giving.

1 March            Mrs. Adams returned from sick leave. S.P... Gala held in evening - Springbok won.

2 March            Annual Meeting for parents.

8 March            D Section Gala - Kings Park

14 March            Grade Sevens attended Open Day at George Campbell High.

15 March            J.P. Swimathon

16 March            S.P... Swimathon

23 March            J.P. Gala - Mrs. Mackie was guest of honour.

27 March            J.P. Puppet Show: "My Wonderful Body."

1 April            40th Anniversary Golf Day

3 April            Glenmore hosted the Interschool General Knowledge Quiz - Glenmore won.

4 April            Parent/Teacher Interviews

5 April            Grade Seven Games Day

6 April            School closed for Easter holidays. Mr. Nikwe resigned.

2nd Term

18 April            School opened for 2nd Term

25 April            Mr. Hartslief and Mr. Duffield attended a Curriculum 2005 workshop at DHS.

3 May            Dog Handling Show

7 May            Ms. Bird attended the O.B.E. Training Seminar at Dirkie Uys School.

11 May            Prefects attended a Leadership Course at Pennington with Mrs. Walker, Mr. Pillay, Mr. Crane and Mrs. Adams.

14 May            School health Services examined Grade One and Grade Six learners.

15 May            Grade Fives to Botanic Gardens.

23 May            Head Prefects chosen: Rohan Adams and Michelle Madureira. Deputies were Gcobani Ceza and Angelique Grobler.

26 May            School Choir took part in National Arts Festival at Natal University.

2 June            Fun Run/Walk

7 June            Mrs. Walker attended a workshop on Aids.

8 June            Mr. Duffield to a breakfast at APEK - Mr. Mike Jarvis, recently retired Head of Department, spoke.

12 June            City Health immunised Grade One learners and Grade Six girls. Grade Seven girls were spoken to by an Aids sufferer.

13 June            Flying Fish Dance Company came.

14 June            S.P... Participation Points Athletics Meeting. Book display in the evening.

23 June            Poster competition at SAPS Crime Awareness Day, won by Glenmore.

28 June            S.P... Athletics Meeting - won by Springbok.

29 June            School closed for July holidays. Mrs. Toy, Mrs. Banks and Mrs. Naidoo left.

3rd term

23 July            School reopened for the 3rd term. Miss M. Carter starting in Grade 2 and Mrs. McConnachie started as Teacher Aide in Grade 1.

25 July            Mr. Duffield attended a Quality Assurance Workshop. Seven members of staff attended an AIDS talk at Sea View.

1 August            Mr. Duffield attended the 90th Birthday Assembly at Umbogintwini.

7 & 8 August            40th Anniversary Production, "Our School in Union," (Izandla Ziyagezana) played to a full hall.

13 August            Mr. Smith (Chairman of Governing Body) and Mr. Duffield attended a G.B. Training Seminar.

14 August            Grade Sevens visited Independent Newspapers.

20 & 21 August            Grade Sevens were given two days of Life skills training called, "Bridge the Gap." 

24 August            J.P. Chess Championship hosted by Glenmore.

28 August            Whole J.P. Department visited the Fire Station. Glenmore hosted the Interschool Relay Challenge.

3 September            Mr. Duffield attended a Development Appraisal Seminar. Whole staff attended a talk by Reg Codrington about understanding the post Y2K world.

4 September            Scholarship Awards Ceremonies. Glenwood: Rohan Adams, Adam Gouws, Andile Ngidi & Ayanda Ngidi. DHS: Chase Nymphe. Mr. Duffield also attended opening of Berea Schools Art Exhibition at Crawford.

5 September            Mrs. Roberts and Mr. Duffield attended a Book Launch at Exclusive Books. Brian Mkhize and Ngobile Lombo had written books.

7 September            Interschools Athletics under flood lights at Port Natal School. Mr. Duffield was guest of honour.

14 September            Art Auction held at school.

19 September            Mr. Duffield attended a workshop about Alternatives to Corporal Punishment.

20 September            Grade Sevens went on excursion to Pizza Hut.

21 September            International Presentation, "Destination Antarctica."

26 September            J.P. Interhouse sports won by Impala.

27 September            City Health issued worm tablets to all of the learners. 

28 September            School closed for the 3rd term. Mr. Duffield attended Glenwood High School's Prize Giving. Love Life Games - Glenmore Boys Under 13 Softball team played for KwaZulu Natal and came 2nd in South Africa.

4th Term

8 October            School opened for the 4th term.

12 October            Mr. Duffield attended Brettonwood High School Prize Giving. Later Mr. Duffield went to a farewell for Mr. P.W. Schultz (SEM).

15 October            Zonal Athletics - High Jump at Penzance.

17 October            Zonal Athletics - Track and other field events at Kings Park.

19 October            Sports team photos taken.

22 October            Grade 6 on Northen KwaZulu Natal History Tour.

26 October            Spelling Bee Test

31 October            Parents' Meeting to accept 2002 Budget.

5 November            Prefects and Monitors' Outing to Disc Bowl.

7 November            S.P.C.A. Talk.

8 November            Childline Talk to Grades 5, 6 and 7.

13 November            Grade 0 Open Day.

16 November            Diwali Assembly.

20 November            Grade One Open Day.

23 November            Grade Seven Farewell.

24 November            Fathers vs Sons Cricket.
