Report by Mr. P. Crane The 3rd term has traditionally been a very active term and the decision was therefore made, this year, to move the "Sports Day" to the end of the second term. This proved to be a very wise decision with much needed time being freed up in the third term and the inter schools team being prepared long before it was actually needed. This not only aided the organisation of the athletes, but also allowed the athletics squad to be much smaller which in turn freed other teachers to attend to other various important tasks, not necessarily linked to athletics. The team itself competed very well with a number of our pupils being chosen for the Southern Coastal meeting early next year.
We began the day, which was towards the end of the term - due to a very busy third term, with beautiful weather and very excited children. Many parents supported us and I am proud to say that every Junior Primary child participated in at least two events. The fun races were enjoyed both by the children and the parents. The programme went like clockwork and some great athletic skills were displayed. It was a fun filled day enjoyed by all. Mrs. Sally Govender (J.P. Teacher)
