Nokwazi Mkhize - The Burning Candle (Sunset) As the moon goes down then the glittering colours of red, orange and yellow show the sign of the sun. It peers over the white snow, as the snow starts melting. The polar bears dive deep down in to the ocean. It burns even harder, melting the snow completely. The children shout, "Ooooooh." The adults shout, "Wow!" ... it's light starts to fade as it gets darker. Then all of a sudden the brightly coloured sun is gone. Tristan Drndarsky - The Burning Candle (The Flaming Sword) This sword has slayed one hundred dragons, saved countries and fought many knights. It has a large, strong, fiery flame. It glistens like the brightest orange red. It can never be put out by water. It also has stunning colours like blue, red, orange and yellow. All mixed together it has cut through thick walls. It sometimes drips wax like teary glitter water. I can see the sword, strong and bold like a buffalo. Its handle is as gold as the finest gold. Reece Nymphe - The Burning Candle (The Mine) When the candle is burnt it looks like the chimney of the mine. As the black polluted air rises to the sky, the great smoke wonders everywhere. The heat rises like helium gas high into the air. Jordan Mitchell - The Burning Candle (The Weeping Boy) The boy wept and wept for his soul. He was slowly melting away. When his tears fell, they turned to rock. When he was alone, new parts began to form. The sun was so hot, he could barely breathe. His death was near for his arm had fallen off. That day he disappeared. Greg Allan - The Burning Candle (The Burning Arrow) The burning arrow, the glowing blade. The tip of the arrow is long and wide. It has the rage of a gun, the accuracy of any scope, the shine of any silver and the silence of any hawk.
