Die dak is rooi en die muur is wit. Die stoep is rooi en die voordeur is bruin. Daar is 'n swembad buite my huis. Ek swem in die swembad want dit is warm. My pa werk in die tuin. In die tuin is daar groot bome en pragtige blomme. Die bediende kamer se dak is blou en die deur is bruin. My ma sit die klere op die wasgoedlyn. My pa sit die motor in die motorhuis.

Extract from a log book - Shipwrecked - Day Nine After nine terrifying days on this island I built up all my courage to finally explore the island. I set off on my journey to find somewhere to make a fire so that a ship passing by can see the smoke and come and save me. I found a tall hill and I used damp wood to make the fire so that there would be a lot of smoke. I went back to my hut and I began to shiver with fear. There were tracks in the sand all around the hut! I grabbed my net and quickly went to catch some fish to eat. I kept looking around but I didn't see anyone. After I had eaten I collected some big logs to barricade my doorway. I will have to keep a lookout from now on.
Dit was 'n warm Saterdag more. My familie en ek het strand toe gegaan. Op die strand het ons met my vriende gespeel. Ons het roomys geëet en ek het in die water geswem. Ons het 'n braai op die strand gehad. Ek het my dag by die strand geniet.
