Caldon Adams - Hoe ek 'n Aartappelslaai maak Eers kook jy vyf aartappels. Laat hulle staan om koel te word en dan trek jy die skil af. Kook sewe eiers, laat hulle koel word en trek die skille af. Sny die aartappels dun en sit hulle in 'n bak. Sny die eiers en sit hulle by. Sny die uie en meng hulle in. Meng drie lepel melk met die mayonnaise. Gooi alles saam, met sout en peper en meng.
Chaw Han - My naweek op die plaas. Dit was sesuur in die môre en ek het wakker geword op my oom se plaas. Ek het my oom en my tante besoek en ek was baie opgewonde. Die plaas was baie groot en daar was 'n pragtige geel plaashuis in die middel van die plaas. Op die eerste dag, het ek 'n heelike ontbyt geëet van spek, eiers, roosterbrood en vrugtesap. My oom en my tante was baie besig. Daar was baie diere en ek het hulle gehelp. Ek het die koeie gemelk, die perde gewas en die eiers uit die nes gehaal. Die volgende dag was dit die besigste dag van die jaar en almal was besig. Ek het die hoenderhokke, stalle, varkhokke, skure en die plaashuis skoongemaak. Laat in die dag het ek na my huis gegaan. Dit was 'n wonderlike naweek en ek het dit baie geniet!

Amanda Ngwenya - Under the Sea I'm a scuba diver and I love going deep into the ocean, to see all these beautiful things. The sea sand always has beautifully carved sea shells in it. I picked up a shell, beautifully carved by nature in it's own unique way. It was the most beautiful shade of pink, the kind you get from a newly blossomed rose. The fiery evening sky streaked beautiful orange streaks across the clam sea. I sailed my yacht far into the ocean. I dived into the cool blue water. The scene around me was fascinating as usual. A shoal of brightly coloured fish sped past me before I even had time to turn around. A chill went down my spine as I saw a sea snake which was patched with bright bold colours screaming out that the snake was poisonous. A Great White shark went by. It's enormous stealthy body made ripples in the water as it moved. All the fish, pink, red and green, darted out of sight as the enormous shark was making a grand entrance. As soon as the shark had scanned the sea around it for fish he stealthily swam by as fast as he had come. The fish took a while to recover from the shock of seeing a shark, but soon all the fish and clams swam and opened up again. The sea soon looked as brightly and amazingly fascinating as ever. The ocean floor is a dazzling place. The first thing you notice about it is the beautifully multi coloured seaweeds and coral. There are many species of seaweed. The weeds have also made very lively homes for thousands and thousands of interesting little creatures. The star fish is also a beautiful creature that spends most of it's life on the ocean floor. It is a fascinating creature. I swim up to the surface and climb into my yacht. The sky has been beautifully decorated with crystal clear stars. That's the end of my fishy day.
Caldon Adams - Die dag alles vergeet was Vandag was die ergste dag ooit in my lewe. Eers het ek laat opgestaan, en toe laat by die skool aangekom. Ek onthou dat ek nie my huiswerk gedoen het nie, en meneer het gesê dat as dit nie klaar gedoen is, sit ons alweer in detensie. Ek het geweet dat my onderwyser nie gelukkig met my sou wees nie. Na pouse het hy my gevang toe ek met my vriend gesels het, en ek moes heelvoor in die saal gaan staan. Toe ons weer by die klas aangekom het, het Meneer Hartslief gesê dat ons mondelinge gaan doen. Ek het vergeet on my mondeling voor te berei, en ek het geweet dat ek nie die mondeling sou slaag nie. Ek was so bly toe die dag ge-eindig het, en ek kon huis toe gaan.
Chaw Han - Under the Sea The furious, 14 foot, midnight blue whale crashed onto the weak ship with little mercy, plunging the vulnerable ship into the deep, dark waters of the mysterious ocean. I am an explorer, exploring the vast continents and oceans and using only my determination and courage to fight my way through the terrifying storm. The lightning flashed, lighting up the whole sky and sending an ice cold chill down my spine. I knew that my only hope of survival was to swim my way down into the freezing water of the ocean. The water underneath the surface was bustling with life and excitement as colourful shoals of fish were swimming back to their homes where they were safe. I could hear the churning of the sea and also see the lifeless ship sinking slowly to the sea floor. Like the ship, I was also sinking to the sea floor with every second. The sea floor was darker than the waves that howled on the surface of the ocean and I could barely see a thing. With one last gulp, there was total darkness - I had given up all hope.
Siphesihle Ncama - The Horror, the Horror On Tuesday the 11th of September, something very unexpected happened in America. The famous World Trade Centers were destroyed by terrorists. The twin buildings were weakened by the impact of two planes. The terrorists hijacked Boeings. They flashed knives at the pilots. The buildings were hit about 15 minutes apart. The third plane hit the Pentagon, just outside Washington. The Pentagon is a military base for the U.S. The fourth plane hit land near Pittsburg. About 201 people have been identified as dead and about 6000 people have been reported missing, presumably trapped under the rubble. About 250 firemen and policemen are missing, presumably under the rubble too. This happened when the buildings collapsed while they were trying to evacuate people from the buildings. It is assumed that the mastermind behind these terrorist attacks is Osama Bin Laden, who is a billionaire dissident from Saudi Arabia. He now lives in Afganistan. Apparently he hates America and has been responsible for the terror attacks of the U.S. Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. He believes he is fighting the Jihad (holy war) and that the Muslim Government should be ruled according to the Sharia (muslim rule) and hates the influence of Americans in the Middle East. But Osama Bin Laden has denied being involved in these terror attacks. It may be a network of terrorists from other countries. The Taliban Government in Afganistan is saying that they do not believe Bin Laden is responsible. They want proof before they can hand him over to the U.S. to stand trial.
