Alone, knee-deep in water, I casted. Plop! My lure landed right next to the reeds. I started to retrieve. Slowly, then fast, then slowly, then fast. But all in vain. I moved to a different side of Inanda Dam. Same action over and over again. This went on for three hours. Then, under some branches I spotted some huge fish - at least 3kg. They were bass, and they were just waiting for a meal. With great hope and some doubt, I casted near them. Plop! I waited, then it finally happened. The huge fish soared into the air and then back into the water with a splash. Struggling for his life. I gave my rod a mighty heave and the fish turned onto its side and floated gently towards me. It was indeed a monster bass. Strangely, I have not caught another fish with that lure.

  • Glenmore Primary

  • I met you as a stranger,

  • and love you as a friend.

  • I hope to meet in heaven,

  • where friendship never ends.

  • Bright is your school

  • Sweet is your name

  • Deep in my heart

  • You'll always remain

  • Valley view

  • Nothing new

  • Just me missing you

  • Eight letters

  • Three words

  • Meaning ... I love you.

  • Nothing in life is perfect

  • Nothing could ever be

  • But there is something very special

  • Between you and me.

  • Since you've come along

  • I've had a protector

  • And a friend

Daniel Sabwelera

VISIONS AND NATIONS

The many united nations

Each one with different visions

The stew pot

The pickled vegetation

Each of them changing through age and generation

The skies with no limit, reflecting mans potential

The lightning, the thunder and the rain above

Let us not destroy it, this great gift from God,

but let us cherish it ourselves

and let earth be the favourite book on our Heavenly Father's shelf.

Nombuso Mfeka

The Peace Maker

He brings love, he brings hope, he loves his poetry more than you can ever know.

He has a disability, he has a problem, he has the whole world all around him.

He loves his mom, he loves his poetry, but most of all he loves God.

Janine Lazarus

There is a miracle of friendship that dwells within the heart,

And you don't know how it happens or where it gets it's start,

But the happiness it brings you always gives a special lift,

And you realise that friendship is God's most perfect gift.

Daniel Wells

Disaster

  • Walking around having a nice day

  • When all of a sudden Baaam!

  • People screaming and streaming in all directions

  • Full of fear

  • Crying tears

  • People concerned to know whether he streets of New York will ever glow again.

  • Horror strikes everyone even 100km away

  • On the streets people lay

  • Believe me this is no time to play.

  • All of a sudden the second plane crashing into the tower

  • Causing even more chaos

  • How will this be fixed

  • No one will ever know

  • If they carry on like this.

Chengetai Mahomva

Daar is 'n plek waarna ek gaan. By daardie plek vergeet ek al my probleme. My plek is orals. Dit kan op 'n seeroweer, op 'n perd of binne 'n kasteel wees. Niemand verstaan waar my plak is nie maar hulle kan ook 'n plek hê. My plek is binne boeke. Jy kan ook 'n plek hê maar die enigste benodigheid is jy moet lees. My plek is net soos 'n moeder vir my. Maak die deur oop om jou plek te vind.
