Staff Report - Ms. K. Bird At the beginning of the year we welcomed some new staff members to our team. Mrs. Mirinda Erwee took over the Grade 0 position and Mrs. Diane McColl was appointed as the Media Centre manager. Ms. Heather Allan, Mrs. Nicole McConnachie and Nicole Mack have also joined the Junior Primary Department as teacher assistants. We were sad to bid Mrs. Heather Banks (a J.P. teacher assistant) farewell at the end of July. She was a great asset to the J.P. and to our Administrative team. Mrs. Joy Naidoo, a Grade Five educator, unfortunately also left our school in July as she was granted medical boarding from the teaching profession. We hear that although not too fit, a stork has been hovering over her roof! (Watch this space for news!) We wish both these ladies all the best. Derek Nikwe, our talented music teacher unfortunately left us earlier in the year. We were sad to hear that Mr. Joseph Ndimande, our only remaining state paid caretaker, lost his wife early this year. Our condolences to him on this very sad occasion. On a brighter note - the stork has once again been active at Glenmore! Richard Handley was born to our Grade Two teacher, Victoria, and her husband, Mark, in December last year. Mrs. Handley has been on leave this year to look after her little one. Mrs. Lara Toy (January - June) and Miss Michelle Carter (July - December) have done stirling work in Grade Two while Mrs. Handley has been away. Cavin Erwee (born to Mirinda and Leon) rather unexpectedly early made his debut in September. We have therefore been deeply grateful to Liz Kay who Has assisted Mrs. Erwee in Grade 0. Mrs. Kay began the year volunteering her services, and has "carried the can" when Cavin was born and Mrs. Vivienne Richards (Mrs. Erwee's replacement) fell ill. Mrs. Kay became a granny for the first time in the third term. We are very fortunate to have such a good team of educators and administrators at Glenmore. Everyone plays his/her part in making this the happy place it always is.
