Y2/Y6 SATs Consultations

It is statutory for parents of Y2 and Y6 children to be able to discuss end of KS SATs with the class teacher.  We are offering Thursday 8th July between 9.30am and 4.30pm for this opportunity. If you feel you need to discuss your child's results please telephone Mrs Walsh to make an appointment with the appropriate teacher.

St. John's Church Fete - Saturday 10th July 2004

Our parish fete is usually well supported by families from St. John's School and we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that it is on this Saturday between 12-4pm. See you there!

School Production - An African Tale

Children from years 3 and 4 will be required for rehearsal on Monday 12th July 2004 from 3.30-5.30pm.

Children from years 5 and 6 will be required for rehearsal on Thursday 8th July - 4.00-6.00pm

                                                                                             Sunday 11th July - 10.30-5pm

                                                                                             Monday 12th July - 3.30-5.30pm 

On the three nights of the production children from years 3 and 4 will be required back at school at 6.00pm in order to have their make up and costume done.

Children from years 5 and 6 (unless otherwise advised by Mrs Martin) will be required back at school at 6.00pm

Year 6 -v- Teachers Netball Match

Year 6 selected netballers will be given the opportunity to challenge the staff on Wednesday 7th July 2004 starting 3.45pm in the junior playground.  The game will take approximately 30 minutes and we would encourage as many supporters as possible of either team. Come along and be amazed at the dexterity and athleticism displayed by staff, young and old! 

Governors' AGM - Wednesday 7th July 2004

This will take place in our school hall at 7.45pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

Hilltop School journey - Year Five (September 2004)

A reminder to parents of the current year four class that deposits of £50 are due by Friday 16th July 2004. Please make cheques payable to St. John's CE Primary School.  Thank you.

Cornish Afternoon

Parents of year six children are invited to attend their Cornish afternoon on Wednesday 21st July. This will take place in the year six classroom and will begin at 1pm. The children have worked very hard on powerpoint presentations and project work throughout the year. There will be a quiz, Cornish ice cream and a presentation of a certificate for each child.  The presentations will finish just before the Leaver's Service.

Leaver's Service

Our final Church service of the academic year will take place on Wednesday 21st July at 2.30pm in St. John's Church. This is a special service for year six children as they will be presented a leaving gift and we hope that many of you will join us in wishing them well for the future.

E Mail Correspondence

From September 2004 all correspondence, where possible, including individual class letters, PTA letters, etc. will be sent via the school mail system. If you have recently acquired an e mail address or if your e mail address has changed please inform the school office. This method of communication is not only more efficient but also environmentally friendly and our target is to reduce our paper consumption by 90%! Please help us by keeping us informed of any changes.
