We still seem to have a problem with people receiving e-mails. Please come in or phone if you are experiencing difficulties because if we do not know about problems we cannot sort them out. I will always make every effort to see you or phone you as early as I can. E-mailing really does save us lots of money and we must continue to try. Mrs Martin

Jamie Oliver School Dinners
From Monday October 10th the school meals offered here at St Johns will be based around the Jamie Oliver recipes and principles.


	New Classroom Furniture New tables and chairs will be arriving soon for Y1, Y3 and Y4. Please let us know if you know of a good home for the old ones or if you would like to have any for your children at home. It seems a shame just to put them all in a skip or send them to Summers Lane dump.

	NUT FREE ZONE May we remind you that the school is a 'nut free school' as we have several children that have nut allergies. Under no circumstances should products containing nuts be brought into school. This includes sweets, cereal bars, and sandwiches. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.


	Parents - would anyone be interested in writing a page for the website. We'd like to add information relating to school, children, parents or anything else of interest. Please email us if you are interested.

	Farmer's Choice - The organic delivery scheme will be starting up again next week. Please look out for the stall in the playground every Wednesday at 3.30 and hand in your order. For parents new to the school please see Miss D'Aristou for details. We could do with some extra people to man the stall. If you think you would be available to help for two or three hours a term please see Mrs Branch who is a Y1 parent.

Headlice - Your child is more likely to catch head lice during autumn than any other time of year. Please check your child's hair regularly.

For those of us worried about dowsing children with chemicals, Lice Attack is a non-toxic treatment which is thought to work by coating and suffocating the lice with coconut oil and claim to be nearly as effective as the most potent insecticides. Available at most pharmacies at £12.49.

	Please note that from now on ALL correspondence will arrive with you via our e mail system. If we do not have your e mail address please send it to us as soon as possible so that we can keep on track with our aim to save both our planet and our money!


	PLAY EQUIPMENT Please can you ensure that children DO NOT PLAY ON THE EQUIPMENT OR MUD before or after school. The school cannot provide supervision at these times and accidents can so easily happen in the damp or wet weather.


	Earrings - Should you wish your child to have their ears pierced I would be grateful if you could arrange to have this done at the beginning of the summer holidays to allow sufficient time for healing.
