Governors

Governors are like a Board of Directors as they make decisions about how the school is run. They meet as a full Governing body usually twice a term, with additional meetings for sub-committees and working parties. Governors are apointed to help:

• decide what is taught;
• set standards of behaviour and performance;
• interview and apoint members of staff;
• decide how the budget is spent.

School governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. The can only act together and not individually. Our governing body comprises of:

• teachers;
• a parent governor;
• church foundation governors;
• representatives of the Local Authority and
• co-opted members.
